


Model Academy organised a workshop on “Effective Communicative Skills” for the teaching faculty on 2nd July 2025. The session began with a warm welcome by the Principal, Mr. Pramod Srivastava appreciating the presence and
participation of all faculty members.
Following the welcome address, Ms. Divya Rathore, Incharge - Trainings, emphasized the vital role of effective communication in both academic and professional environments. The workshop was conducted by Mrs. Maneka Khanna, Academic Manager of the Primary Wing, an accomplished educator known for her expertise in enhancing communicative skills among teachers.
The session focused on the essence of effective communication, which involves not only expressing thoughts, ideas, and emotions clearly but also actively listening and understanding others. It is a key component in building strong relationships, resolving conflicts, and achieving success in various spheres of life.
Key takeaways from the workshop included: The importance of clarity and conciseness in communication, the role of body language, facial expressions, and tone of voice, active listening and empathetic engagement, strategies to overcome communication barriers, promoting open, respectful, and inclusive dialogue. The workshop was insightful and engaging, equipping participants with essential tools to communicate more effectively and confidently.
The session was thoughtfully designed to be interactive and engaging, allowing teachers to participate actively in a variety of hands-on activities that highlighted the significance of clear and effective communication. Activities included: Chinese Whisper – to emphasize the importance of clarity and attentive listening in message transmission, Brainstorming sessions – to promote idea-sharing and collaborative dialogue, Classic examples of miscommunication – to reflect on how messages can be misunderstood, Emotion Charades – to explore nonverbal cues and emotional expression, Barrier Game – to understand communication obstacles and strategies to overcome them.
These activities fostered self-reflection, strengthened peer learning, and helped participants experience the nuances of communication in a dynamic and enjoyable way. The session concluded with positive feedback and a commitment to apply these skills in daily teaching and teamwork. Teachers appreciated the interactive nature of the workshop, which kept them engaged throughout. Suggestions were made to organize similar sessions regularly for continuous development.
