Model Academy, known for its educational excellence at MIER, hosted a two-day capacity-building program on 3rd and 4th May focused on enhancing Science teaching skills among educators. The event featured distinguished resource persons, Mrs. Neera Mahajan, Principal of Maharana Pratap Senior Secondary Adarsh Vidyalaya in Pathankot, and Mr. Vishal Gupta, Head of the Department of Science at Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu.
The primary objective of this training initiative was to empower teachers with the knowledge, skills, and adaptability necessary to cater to evolving student needs and provide them with practical insights into teaching Science effectively.
The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a soul-stirring welcome song performed by the school's choir.
Mr. Pramod Kumar Srivastava, the Principal, emphasized the importance of creativity and flexibility in teaching, urging educators to tailor their approaches to engage students and equip them for the future.
Mrs. Neera Mahajan, as a resource person, delved into various aspects of Science teaching, including methodologies, lesson planning, and assessment. She highlighted the significance of fostering independent critical thinking and problem-solving skills in students to help them identify their strengths and weaknesses.
Mr. Vishal Gupta highlighted Science as a continuously evolving field based on current knowledge. Mr. Dhiman, the Vice-Principal, emphasized how such training programs serve as platforms for making Science learning interactive and application-oriented.
The sessions offered a dynamic and immersive learning experience through engaging activities, making Science education both enjoyable and innovative. The vote of thanks was extended by Mrs. Manju Vali, the Academic Manager for the Middle Wing, with coordination from Mrs. Bharti Bhalwal, the Training Coordinator.
