POWERPOINT COMPETITION

"Competition among schools is a great motivator."
With an aim to promote soft skills amongst students, Model Academy, the prestigious school of MIER organised an online Inter-School Power Point Competition for the Senior Secondary Wing under the banner of Jammu Sahodaya School complex. Top
26 CBSE Schools participated in the event. The topic chosen was, "E- Waste- A Challenge for Sustainable Development."
The main objective of organising the competition was to inculcate and boost the communicative skills, develop public speaking and also encourage self learning among students.
The occasion was graced by Mrs. Rashmi Ahluwalia, Principal Montessori Cambridge School Pathankot and President Sahodaya School, Pathankot as the Chief Guest and Mrs. Rupa Gupta, Jt. Director MIER as the Guest of Honour.
Other dignitaries present were Dr. Pramod Kumar Srivastava, Principal, Mr.J.K Dhiman, Vice-Principal, Manager Academics, illustrious Principals of various schools and teachers.
The jury comprised Dr. Lalit Sen Sharma, professor Department of Computer Science, Jammu University and Ms. Anuradha, scientist and nodal officer pollution control committee Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion Mrs. Ahluwalia complimented the schools for participating and said that competitions play a vital role in motivating students to perform and excel. The spirit of participation is equally rewarding as is winning the prize. It is like a stepping stone to achieve greater things in life.
Mrs. Rupa lauded the efforts of the students and advised them to be more focused and work hard which would further teach them to perform better in life. She said that youth of our country should take a lead in tackling the issue of e-waste both domestically and globally and create a new path for humanity.
Dr. Pramod Kumar Srivastava while welcoming the gathering said that competitions offer a chance for participants to gain substantial experience, showcase skills, analyse and evaluate outcomes.
The jury while acknowledging the hard work of participants said that such competitions aid children in developing the ability to handle pressure. Through competitions students can gain better understanding of how to deal with conflicting opinions and ideas.
The competition was an enriching experience for all the participants.
The first place went to Om Andri of Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua, second place was jointly bagged by Rakshita Sharma of Model Academy School, Achyutum Sharma of KC International School and Samanvai Udhav of APS Jammu Cantt and third place was bagged by Naina Khajuria of DPS Udhampur. Ishiqua Pal Kour Dutta , JK Public School Kunjwani, Aryan Raj, Stephens International School, Chandanshi Manhas, Presentation Convent School and Rishab Kour, International IDPS Jammu won the consolation prizes.
The programme was ably anchored by Mrigank Salathia. Marushika Suri presented a formal welcome note and vote of thanks was proposed by Khyrul Nisa.
The programme was coordinated by Mrs. Manju Vali Convener, CCA, Mrs. Mehak Gupta, Mr. Vikas Katal and Mrs.Vineeta Gupta from department of Computer Science.
