ADVENTURE CAMP AT PATNITOP.

Students journey through an academic session is incomplete without some co- curricular fun- activities. Keeping this in mind Model Academy, the prestigious school of MIER in collaboration with Model Institute of Engineering and Technology organised an intensive and rigorous I- Survive Adventure Camp at Patnitop for its students. The camp named as I- Survive denotes the indomitable human spirit to triumph against all odds. Chairperson, Dr Renu Gupta, in her message stressed that in today’s competitive world the youth need to be equipped to handle the pressures by being adaptable and flexible. Speaking on the occasion Director, Dr Adit Gupta said that such programmes provide a stimulating combination of science, adventure and self-discovery.
Apart from providing an adrenalin rush these activities also imparted key learnings pertaining to overcoming individual fear and mental blocks, developing team spirit, cultivating essential survival skills under the most difficult and tough situations.
Much to the satisfaction of the students and teachers the professional trainers had planned the entire day with interesting adventure activities like flying fox, double rope bridge, free-fall jump, commando wrapping, nuptial knot and passing the Burma bridge. Every activity aimed at honing a different skill. The amount of energy and enthusiasm exhibited by the students was enthralling. For most of the students, it was a first-time exposure to camping and adventure activities, and they appreciated the efforts put in by the school authorities in creating this experience for them. A total of 100 students along with 7 faculty members attended the two- days camp. During the night a bonfire coupled with cultural interaction was also organised.
With an active, well trained, and zealous group of experts, the trip turned out to be a tremendous success. The camp was flagged off from MIER by the principal, and vice- principal, Dr Pramod kumar Srivastava and Mr. J K Dhiman
