Staff Training Programme on Work Ethics and Professional Code of Conduct

An orientation programme for the teaching and non-teaching staff of Model Academy School was organised on 30th July 2022 on the topic “Work Ethics and Professional Code of Conduct”. The resource person for the said programme was Miss Jasleen Mohial, Coordinator IQAC MIER College of Education. The event was presided over by Dr Renu Gupta, chairperson MIER, Mrs. Rupa Gupta Joint Director and Dr Pramod Kumar Srivastava, principal Model Academy. More than 70 staff members of the school attended the programme.
The resource person enlightened the staff about work ethics, giving fresh insights on the need and purpose of professional code of conduct. The session focused on professional ethics commitment towards job, ethics in interpersonal relationship with parents, students, colleagues, management, society, teaching, and non-teaching staff. She emphasised on the philosophy of morality as a virtue in every teacher’s life. She exhorted the staff members to make continuous efforts for their professional growth and adhere to a responsible pattern of conduct and demeanour expected of them by the community.
Dr Renu Gupta, chairperson MIER in her presidential remarks said that teachers must strive to recognise the difference in aptitude and capabilities among students and meet their individual needs. She motivated teachers to inculcate among students scientific temper, spirit of inquiry and ideals of democracy, environmental protection and peace. She emphasised on the concept of conduct and attributed it to physical actions and verbal words. She further stated that both teaching and non-teaching staff have to work as equal partners and endeavour to promote a positive work culture. She reiterated the fact that the school has completed 86 years and she looks forward to completing hundred years, for this, the teachers need to perform their duties conscientiously and with dedication.
The session was quite interactive and informative and proved to be an eye-opener for all. It culminated with vote of thanks by Miss Mahek Gupta, Staff Secretary. The programme was coordinated by Mrs Manjari Sehgal Academic Manager, middle wing.
