Model Academy, the prestigious school of MIER, celebrated its 89th Foundation Day on February 4, 2025, with great enthusiasm, reverence, and joy. The school, a symbol of academic excellence, continues to uphold the rich legacy of its esteemed founders, Late Sh. H.L. Gupta and Late Smt. Shanti Gupta, making them proud of its remarkable achievements.
To mark this special occasion, a solemn assembly was organised, during which floral tributes were paid to the visionary founders by the management, administration, faculty of MIER College, teachers, and students. A heartfelt tribute was also offered to Late Dr. Arun Gupta, the former chairman, whose pioneering leadership and unwavering dedication have been a source of inspiration for generations of learners.
The event was infused with a vibrant cultural showcase, creating a festive atmosphere. The school choir set the tone with a soulful rendition of ‘Model Academy Vidya Mandir’, evoking a sense of pride and nostalgia. Prableen Kour, a Class 9 student, captivated the audience with a heartfelt poem dedicated to the school’s torchbearers. Ms. Divyani Gupta, a staff member, delivered a moving speech honouring the institution’s glorious journey.
Adding to the charm of the celebration, Ms. Damneek Kour and Ms. Samvedna Bharti, B.Ed. 3rd-semester students from MIER College, mesmerised everyone with their melodious performance and self-composed poetry, leaving a lasting impact on the gathering.
In her message, Dr. Renu Gupta, Chairperson MIER, applauded the founders’ unwavering commitment to establishing an institution of academic excellence. She encouraged students to excel in all fields and contribute meaningfully to society, ensuring that the vision of the founders continues to thrive. Expressing her gratitude to the staff and students, she lauded their efforts in transforming MIER into a hub of innovation and educational brilliance.
Dr. Adit Gupta urged students to embrace the future with confidence and explore the limitless opportunities ahead. He reminded them of the school’s humble beginnings and the incredible journey it has undertaken over the years.

The program was skillfully anchored by Ms. Samta Dogra and coordinated by Ms. Nisha Arora and Ms. Neetu Bhardwaj, the convener and co-convener of CCA, along with the cultural department.
